The General Spatial Planning Framework for Greece defines the general guidelines for the development, organization, and management of the national space. It sets rules for the ekistic and transport networks, productive sectors/activities, the role of metropolitan areas and major urban centers, the spatial structure of the urban network, the organization of the mountainous or coastal areas and island and other crucial regions, the management of natural resources and of the cultural heritage.
The study was prepared on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works / Directorate General for the Environment / Spatial Planning.
